THE FLAT DESIGN TREND -
Flat design first surfaced a couple of years ago but it’s now ready for the big time, causing some interesting buzz in the creative world. Windows Mobile OS uses it (with dubious results) and the eagerly anticipated new MAC iOS 7 will have it, but what is it?
Flat design is pretty straightforward. It is flat. It’s a way of designing without adding three-dimensional attributes – no shadows, no gradients, no bevels, etc. It doesn’t mean flat design has no effects, it just means that it doesn’t use effects to create depth and dimension.
Flat design focuses on colour, typography and simpler use of UI elements. Simplicity is the key but that’s were the design skill is at - hope this inspires you.
